Meet Dr. Jayasena
Sumedha Jayasena, Ph.D., is a native of Sri Lanka and holds over 30 scientific patents worldwide in the area of biotechnology. He grew up immersed in a culture with centuries of knowledge about the health benefits of its local natural resources. Ceylon cinnamon was one of these ancient Eastern wonders, and he developed both a deep knowledge of it and a belief in its greater potential.
He knew that this particular type of cinnamon, often called "true cinnamon," was unlike its common Cassia cousin: it provides superfood health benefits but contains negligible amounts of coumarin, a blood thinner and potential liver toxin under long-term use in high concentration.
Pairing this knowledge with his modern Western scientific education, he became the mastermind behind Stabilicinn. Dr. Jayasena bio-engineered a very precise process to produce a liquid extract of Ceylon cinnamon that retains highly efficacious polyphenolic compounds that are more effectively absorbed into the bloodstream than solid forms.
Dr. Jayasena is a co-owner of Stabilicinn.
Our story
Stabilicinn was originally made primarily for sale in Vitamin Shoppe's 700+ stores nationwide. Today we are re-introducing it with a direct-to-consumer focus: made in small batches in the USA and shipped directly from us.
Stabilicinn is made by Minimus Brands LLC in Newbury Park, California.
What we believe
- Know what you're taking. Two ingredients: filtered water and certified Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum).
- Source matters. We buy only raw cinnamon certified by Sri Lanka's government as pure Ceylon cinnamon, from sustainable family businesses in the Southern Province.
- Science you can check. Our Research Library lists independent published studies on cinnamon, with links to the originals. None of that research was done in cooperation with our company.
